Glass thing

Modelled as a subdiv surface in Wings3D, smoothed, and rendered in Radiance 3.6.

A rather simple scene. The object, a spotlight, and the ground. There are some complex reflections and refractions in there that give the appearance of detail where there really isn't any.
I'm thinking about making a perl script to add in bubbles to the glass. That would make it even more complex, maybe too much so.

I like the black and white look. I usually try to avoid colourless scenes, thinking they appear "boring". But this came out well. I didn't even have to process the image at all.

2005-07-10: Re-rendered at higher resolution for upload as a print. I added a small amount of bloom for added reaslism. I've re-uploaded this new version in 1500x1000 but the detail is nothing compared to the 9000x6000 render!
