How would you like it?

How would you like it if many websites wasted half of your screen?

I have a nice 19" monitor and run it at 1600x1200 @75Hz.
For most things it's quite nice. I have enough room to do the things I want without feeling too cramped. Virtual desktops help with that as well.

And then some jerkwad of a "web designer" comes along and decides to fit everything in an 800x600 window, and nothing more.
Or maybe it's the customer that specifies this stupid restriction. I've heard many stories of web designers/programmers being forced by their customers into making bad web sites.

This is a screenshot of the flash-only volkswagen.com.au site on my 1600x1200 display. I've scaled it down to 800x600 for those with smaller screens. See the shit I have to put up with?
